Sign Up For Gmail Account

Well, If you are reading this right now, you must be like me who enjoy the flexibility and rich features offered by Gmail. If you are not yet a Gmail user, just go to gmail.com and sign up for a Gmail account for free.

Until very recently, there is one main shortfall for using gmail, that is you can only access Gmail online via an internet browser. What if I tell you that you can now access your Gmail with all those familiar features such as search, labels and conversation threading even when you are OFFLINE (not connected to the internet)? Hope you are as thrilled as I do.

Gmail now has a special Offline Mode. This special feature allows you to access through any internet browser program (without connecting to the internet),  all the email messages which you had already sent and received. You can also compose new email messages under the offline mode. Your messages will be stored in the Outbox folder and will be automatically sent the next time you get connected to the internet.

To set up the Gmail Offline Mode is pretty easy. Follow these simple steps listed below:

1. Login to your Gmail account

2. Click on “Setting” at the top right of your Gmail homepage.

3. On the new page that appears, click on the menu tab labelled as “Labs”.

4. Select “Enable” for the Offline Mode.

5. Remember to scroll all the way to the botton and click “Save Changes”

6. Now, you will be able to see the “Offline” link appearing at the top right-hand-side of your Gmail homepage. Click on it and follow the instructions to install GEARS. Gears is an open source browser extension that lets developers create web applications that can run offline. You are now done and ready to access your Gmail offline!
